“Our nation is observing the ongoing events in the Middle East with concern. Ensuring peace in this region is of paramount importance to us. Therefore, employing diplomatic means to de-escalate the conflict is crucial,” stated MP Davit Matikashvili, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Procedural Issues.

He further stated that the ongoing developments in the Middle East highlight the effectiveness of the Georgian Dream government in safeguarding peace within Georgia.

“The process was managed in such a way that the Georgian people and government did not yield to external pressures, and we maintained sustainable peace. This stands as yet another example of how vital it is for a nation to prioritise its own peace and stability. When we look at the events unfolding around us, Georgia has become an island of peace. While there is a war between Russia and Ukraine and a conflict in the Middle East, Georgia remains peaceful. This peace has enabled us to maintain flight operations that are simply impossible in countries engulfed in war,” said Davit Matikashvili.
