MP Davit Matikashvili: EU is resembling Soviet Union; membership means silence and unequal treatment
“The European Union is increasingly resembling the Soviet Union. If you wish to join, you are denied the right to vote or criticise the European Union itself, while the United States criticises them,” stated MP Davit Matikashvili, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Procedural Issues.
He explained that this situation exemplifies unfairness.
“The European Union is becoming more and more like the Soviet Union, where society is divided into patricians and plebeians. If you want to join the European Union, you have no right to voice your concerns or criticise its policies. Meanwhile, the United States directs widespread criticism at the EU, openly highlighting the flawed policies it unfortunately has. They also point out where the current approach will lead the European Union in the future. This is a clear example of the unequal treatment that Kaja Kallas has shown towards society,” said Davit Matikashvili.
