MP Archil Gorduladze says appointing full US Ambassador to Georgia is vital

“We are cautious yet optimistic, but at the same time, we are doing everything within our power to achieve a strategic partnership with the United States,” stated MP Archil Gorduladze, Chairman of the Parliamentary Legal Affairs Committee.

According to Gorduladze, a full US Ambassador must be appointed to Georgia.

“We are cautious yet optimistic, but at the same time, we are doing everything within our power to achieve a strategic partnership with the United States. Naturally, the Ambassador, representing their nation, plays a pivotal role in this process. It is important that a permanent Ambassador be appointed to Georgia, rather than relying on a Chargé d’Affaires,” Archil Gorduladze stated.

For context, the US Embassy released information confirming that Amy W. Diaz will serve as Chargé d’Affaires. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Botchorishvili held an introductory meeting with Amy W. Diaz.
