The movement “Apply Amnesty to Me” is holding a protest at the parliament with the demand of issuance of Amnesty Act.
Members of “For Justice” Party support the protest participants. According to Eka Beselia, Leader of the Party, amnesty is essential, on the one hand, for protection of principle of justice and humanity and, on the other hand, for management of the number of inmates in penitentiary facilities under the conditions of COVID-19 pandemic.
Beselia claimed that this is a solidarity activity to back the idea of family members of prisoners. “Humanity principle requires that this act is adopted by the parliament by breaking all risks that may follow such an act,” Beselia claimed.
