Minibus fare in Tbilisi reduces to 50 tetris

Tbilisi City Hall will dwindle the current minibus (Marshrutka) fare from 80 to 50 tetris.

Effective April 1, new minibuses will be involved in a unified integrated payment system.

The second and following rides will be free within 90 minutes, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said on Wednesday. The same rule already applies to the metro and the bus.

Additional 700 minibuses will enter Georgia in September 2021. Georgia’s transport reform will complete by 2023, Mayor noted.

“According to our transport policy, instead of up to 1,500 minibuses, 1,000 minibuses will serve Tbilisians. On top of that, additional 8-meter buses will be added,” Kalakdze added.
