Miners are protesting in Chiatura against Georgian Manganese saying the company did not meet the promise concerning wages.

According to the miners, after the plant stopped operations, 60% of their salaries were accrued for three months, but they have not received their wages in February.

The protesters call on the government to engage in negotiations and take over the mineral extraction process.

Georgian Manganese company said it would make its statement by the end of the week.
