Migration Department employees deported 44 foreign nationals from Georgia
Employees of the Migration Department of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs, in close coordination with relevant units, have deported 44 foreign nationals from the country in recent days.
According to the Ministry, through comprehensive measures undertaken by the Migration Department, a total of 44 citizens from Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Iran, Jordan, Pakistan, China, Russia, Armenia, Nigeria, Turkmenistan, Ghana, Iraq, Yemen, Egypt, and Lebanon have been expelled from Georgia.
“It is noteworthy that over the past month alone, 152 foreign nationals have been deported following these measures. This year’s total significantly exceeds the figures from previous years; current data shows that 1,131 individuals have been expelled in recent years,” the MIA states.
The Migration Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs is responsible for combating illegal migration within the country. Its mandate includes identifying foreign nationals residing without legal grounds and expelling them through intensive immigration controls and other measures.
