Michele Nicoletti was elected as the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) at the winter session in Strasbourg today.
Nicoletti is the 31st President of the Assembly. He will serve for a one-year term.
Nicoletti replaced Stella Kyriakides from Cyprus.
61-year-old Italian politician was the head of the Italian delegation in the Council of Europe since August 6, 2014.
