MIA launched investigation into 6 facts detected in the course of election process

Nino Tsatsiashvili, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs held another briefing about the election process ongoing across Georgia.  Tsatsiashvili said that the MIA would ensure safe holding of the polls. She said that mobile groups of the police were moving about throughout the country instantly reacting on law violations.

According to Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, MIA launched investigation into 6 facts detected in the course of election process:

–          Tbilisi , Didi Dighomi district, #40 Polling Station – on fact of physical assault of Zviad Kuprava, activist of National Movement Party;

–          Kutaisi, #13 Vazha Pshavela Street, #37 Polling Station – on fact of verbal and physical assault of Irakli Kikvadze, Kutaisi  Mayoral Candidate of Labor Party;

–          Tbilisi, Isani #39 polling station, Marneuli Municipality, Dashtapi village #52 Polling Station and Kizilajlo village # 89 Polling Station – on facts of physical conflict;

Tsatsiashvili said that investigation and procedure activities were ongoing into these 6 cases. She also called on all persons, organizations and parties involved in election process for observing the law and apply to the police to contribute to holding of elections in a peaceful environment.
