MIA issues warning of water level drop in Mtkvari River amid ongoing rescue operations
The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has issued a public warning regarding a potential decline in the water level of the Mtkvari River in Tbilisi, as rescue operations continue.
According to an official statement, rescue teams are actively working to retrieve a vehicle with passengers that was swept into the river during a night incident.
Firefighters and rescue personnel arrived promptly at the scene following the call for help. They successfully rescued one individual. Divers are engaged in efforts to save other missing passengers. All available rescue vehicles have been deployed to initiate a controlled lowering of the water level.
The MIA urges residents of Tbilisi to avoid the area around the Ortachala Hydroelectric Power Plant for safety reasons.
