MIA ensures security at World Championships in Bakuriani

Units of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) will ensure public order, traffic movement safety and security of tourists during the Freestyle, Snowboard and Freeski World Championships – Bakuriani 2023, the MIA reported.

Ski patrol officers are outfitted with the proper gear to assist visitors. In various sites, four security police checkpoints are set up. Firefighter-rescuers from the Emergency Situations Management department have been deployed to two locations in the Bakuriani resort.

Georgia hosts Freestyle, Snowboard and Freeski World Championships for the first time. The tournament takes place from February 16 to March 5 in Bakuriani resort under the aegis of the International Ski Federation (FIS), with the participation of about 700 athletes from 42 countries.
