MIA apprehends foreign national on drug offences and seizes significant quantity of narcotics
Officers from the Terjola District Division of the Imereti Police Department, under the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), have detained a Ukrainian national, identified as I.Kh., born in 1998, on charges relating to the facilitation of the illegal purchase, storage, and sale of a substantial quantity of narcotics.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a search of the suspect’s temporary residence resulted in the seizure of a large amount of methadone, prepared for sale, which has been secured as evidence.
Additionally, law enforcement officials uncovered materials necessary for packaging the narcotics during the investigation.
The case is currently ongoing under Articles 260 and 260-4 of the Criminal Code, which carry penalties of up to 20 years’ imprisonment or life imprisonment.
