MFA: Turkish FM appreciates Georgia's support following military plane crash

During the 32nd OSCE Ministerial Meeting, Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili met with Türkiye’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan.

According to the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Turkish Foreign Minister expressed his gratitude to his Georgian counterpart for the support and efforts extended during the recent Turkish military aircraft crash.

The meeting also highlighted the robust strategic partnership and the intensive bilateral cooperation between Georgia and Türkiye.

“The active exchange of visits at both high-level and sectoral levels was underscored, along with the importance of convening the third session of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council,” the statement noted.

Attention was also given to ongoing regional developments and the vital roles Georgia and Türkiye play in fostering stability and peace across the region.
The Turkish side reaffirmed its steadfast support for Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Discussions also covered the thriving trade and economic ties between the two countries, emphasising the importance of fully harnessing the transit and transport potential of Georgia and Türkiye within the framework of the Middle Corridor’s development.

Additionally, the parties recognised the effective cooperation between Georgia and Türkiye within international organisations, the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs added.
