MEPs unfurl banners in support of imprisoned individuals in Georgia

Debates will take place in the European Parliament on June 18 on media freedom in Georgia, including the case of journalist Mzia Amaglobeli, founder of Netgazeti and Batumelebi media outlets.

Before the meeting, MEPs Rasa Juknevičienė, Małgorzata Gosiewska, Petras Auštrevičius and others unfurled banners in support of imprisoned individuals.

They carried the banners of Mate Devidze, Mzia Amaglobeli, Zurab Japaridze, Nika Melia, Mikheil Saakashvili and Nika Gvaramia.

The European Parliament will debate resolutions prepared by seven political groups, and the vote is scheduled for tomorrow, June 19.
