MEP Rasa Juknevičienė deems Salome Zourabichvili as only legitimate official in Georgia
“The only legitimate official in Georgia is President Salome Zourabichvili elected as a result of free elections,” said Rasa Juknevičienė, a member of the European Parliament.
There were no real elections in today. What took place was a farce — just like in Russia, Belarus, and other autocracies. The only legitimate official in Georgia is President Salome Zourabichvili elected as a result of free elections. Ivanishvili continues the state capture,” she wrote on the X Platform.
At the sitting of the Central Election Commission (CEC), The Electoral Assembly elected Mikheil Kavelashvili as Georgia’s Sixth President with a term of five years through non-direct rule for the first time on December 14.
The inauguration of the new president will take place on December 29.
