MEP Petras Auštrevičius: Georgian gov't will pay a high price for human rights violations
MEP Petras Auštrevičius from Lithuania echoed the detention of Elene Khoshtaria, the Droa party leader saying the Georgian government would pay a high price for human rights violations.
“The Russian-way acting Georgian police yesterday detained, intimidated and humiliated Elene Khoshtaria, the Chair of opposition party DROA. The Government of Georgia will pay a high price for human rights violations,” the MEP wrote on the X Platform.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) said Elene Khoshtaria was detained during the March 28 public protest at the parliament on a charge of administrative law violation under Articles 166 and 173 for disobedience to the police and petty hooliganism.
