MEP Marina Kaljurand - I always demand support for Georgia's democratic reforms and integration
“The declaration should be balanced, equally critical and reasonable,” the Chair of the delegation to the EU-Georgia Parliamentary Association Committee Marina Kaljurand said regarding the failure of the resolution on Georgia at the EU-Georgia Association Parliamentary Committee in Strasbourg.
“I am disappointed that until now all the meetings between the European Parliament and the Georgian Parliament were ended in corroborated statements and declarations.
The declaration should be balanced, equally critical and reasonable. But unfortunately, some of the amendments made by both parties – the European Parliament and the Georgian Parliament – have not been constructive,” Marina Kaljurand stressed.
The Chair of the delegation to the EU-Georgia Parliamentary Association Committee concluded that: “The European Parliament is not a place for the confrontation between the Georgian Government and the opposition but the place where the Parliament members listen to both parties and seek a constructive way.”
According to Marina Kaliurand, she always demands the supports for Georgia’s democratic reforms and integration.
