Media to hold silent protest

Media representatives are holding a silent protest at the Governmental Administration. Cameramen, photographers and journalists demand an investigation of the July 5 violence.

They claim that those, who physically assaulted media, must be identified and punished to prevent violence in the future.

Fifty-five persons, among them fifty-three media representatives, were assaulted during the anti-Tbilisi Pride rally on July 5, according to the Interior Ministry. Tbilisi Pride cancelled the scheduled march amid violent protests.
