Mayor reports evacuation of 50 families in Lanchkhuti amid natural disaster response

The Mayor of Lanchkhuti Municipality, Aleksandre Sarishvili, has reported that approximately 50 families have been evacuated from the disaster-stricken area. Additionally, a rescue brigade is currently evacuating five individuals from the village of Khoreti.

Sarishvili mentioned that intensive efforts are underway to address the natural disaster in Lanchkhuti Municipality. These efforts have been ongoing around the clock, with a significant number of families evacuated, particularly from the Chochkhati community. Specialized teams are actively working to clean affected areas, many of which have experienced landslides.

A hotline has been established for individuals in the disaster-affected areas to report any problems or seek assistance. Local authorities and representatives are working closely with the affected communities to ensure their safety and well-being.

The damage caused by the natural disaster in the village of Supsa is also being assessed by a dedicated damage calculation commission.

Three individuals tragically lost their lives as a result of this natural disaster in the Guria region. The heavy rainfall led to flooding in numerous villages, affecting homes, yards, and agricultural areas.
