May 8 has been declared National Wine Day, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze signed the government’s decree.

“With the aim to present Georgian wine as the country’s identity and most valuable cultural heritage, the centuries-old history of Georgian wine and the traditions associated with it: a) Establish a National Wine Day; b) Celebrate National Wine Day on May 8 annually,” the government decree, dated February 12, states.
