Marina Ezugbaia: Number 158 does not give ground for panic, detection of contacts and their isolation carried out quickly

The number 158 does not give ground for panic,  – Marina Ezugbaia, the medical director of the Tbilisi Infectious Diseases Hospital, told journalists.

According to Ezugbaia, despite the increase in cases of infection, there is no reason to panic, as contacts have been quickly found and isolated.

“The number 158 does not give us grounds for panic.  Very instantaneous, fast, proportionate actions were taken by the government, the Ministry of Health and the Disease Control, the contacts of the infected patients were very quickly found and examined. Most of these 158 cases are from Batumi”, – Ezugbaia said.

According to her, the outbreak of the virus has almost been localized in Batumi and Tsageri.

“The number of such rapid studies allows us to isolate the contacts of the infected so that we can firmly say that we will stop the spread of the disease. It has been almost localized in Batumi, as well as in Tsageri”, – Marina Ezugbaia said.
