Kobi-Gudauri ropeway is a project of historic importance – Mamuka Bakhtadze, Georgian Prime Minister said during the presentation of the new ropeway in Gudauri winter resort.

PM said in his speech that the ropeway would have vital importance for locals residing in Kazbegi town. He claimed that the number of tourists had increased significantly in the latest years and that many new projects were carried out for this winter season in Gudauri.

“We would like the Georgian ski resorts to become the best ones in the world,” PM said. Bakhtadze thanked Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure and representatives of “Poma” company, which implemented the ropeway project.

“Together with the increase of tourist potential, the project will help the locals to cope with the problem of movement linked with the closure of Kobi-Gudauri road due to heavy snowfall and threat of avalanche in winter,” Prime Minister said.
