Majority MP Shalva Papuashvili reported that members of the opposition United National Movement (UNM) party broke into the ruling Georgian Dream party’s Khelvachauri office in the Adjara region.
According to Papuashvili, the fact represents “unimaginable insolence”, which is aimed at causing uncontrolled processes.
“The UNM members brought a torn poster of the candidate, which most likely they damaged themselves, and then, without any factual evidence, used it as a reason to carry out this provocation, which they ultimately failed to carry out,” Papuashvili said.
Shalva Papuashvili urged the party members to be vigilant and to record any provocations. He claimed that the Georgian and international community closely watched the developments and it was the government’s duty to respond within the law.
