Lithuanian FM underscores importance of EU-brokered agreement implementation
“It is vital to resolve the current domestic political situation fully. The country should have a functioning parliament, where the full mandate of Georgian citizens to be represented,” Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis said during his visit to Georgia earlier this afternoon.
Lithuanian FM praised all the parties that signed the EU backed agreement. He called on UNM Chair Nika Melia to consider the guarantees offered by European colleagues.
“April 19 agreement must be implemented without any deviations. I urge Nika Melia to take into account the guarantees offered by his European partners. It is important that all political parties and elected members of parliament join the efforts related to the immediate implementation of the agreement,” Lithuanian FM said.
Foreign Minister of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis arrived in Georgia with an official visit on April 27.
