Lithuanian Ambassador: Time for reflections, we expect everything to be compromised
According to the Ambassador of Lithuania to Georgia Andrius Kalindra, now is the time for everyone to reflect. He says combined efforts are made to help Georgia, and they expect that the political crisis is solved by compromise.
“This is the time for reflections for everyone. Many things are happening inside and outside. Believe me, there are much more friends of Georgia out of the Georgian borders than you can expect. So now there are combined effort to assist the Georgian state. That is our priority interest because there are many challenges around, many challenges in the region and Europe. We do expect that everything is compromised,” Andrius Kalindra said.
Georgian opposition parties that won seats in the Georgian Parliament of the 10th Convocation believe the 2020 parliamentary elections were a fraud. They have been demanding repeat parliamentary elections and the release of the United National Movement Chair, Nika Melia, and the co-founder of the TV channel Mtavari Arkhi Giorgi Rurua.
The second EU-mediated attempt to solve political crises in Georgia failed earlier this week. EU mediator Christian Danielsson said he proposed a solution that puts the country’s interest first to the parties, but none of the political actors agreed on the solution.
