LGBTQI+ rights not marginal issue, Charles Michel says

“LGBTQI+ rights are not a marginal issue. In the European Union, we don’t discriminate. We integrate,” said European Council President Charles Michel after the Tbilisi Pride march cancelled on July 5 due to violent clashes.
Far-right demonstrators stormed Tbilisi Pride and Shame Movement offices ahead of the march. Interior Ministry urged the Pride organizers to cancel the event due to security risks.
Tbilisi Pride later axed the march as ” the authorities did not ensure the security of the community.”
