If anything is improved in Georgia, this is media environment – Levan Gogichaishvili, MP of Parliamentary Majority told journalists when commenting about the report published by Freedom House, an independent watchdog organization dedicated to the expansion of freedom and democracy around the world.

“Since Georgian Dream’s coming into power, protection of human rights is a priority and freedom of expression is ensured. Media pluralism is guaranteed. Respectively, voters are the best evaluation makers. Some may have questions, some agree and some disagree but if anything is improved in Georgia, this is media environment,” Gogichaishvili claimed.

Freedom House today published a report about media environment in Georgia. Based on the report, media independence in Georgia in 2017 has the same evaluation as in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.
