Lelo's Sioridze says their party aims to heighten resistance by entering local elections race
“Intensification of resistance movement, including by entering the local elections race, is one of the top priorities for our party,” said Giorgi Sioridze, a member of the Lelo party.
According to Sioridze, street protests should serve as a complementary process rather than an alternative.
“Our political party follows its chosen path. We aim to achieve new parliamentary elections under new rules, new election administration and the release of prisoners of conscience. At this stage, we see a way forward by engaging in the so-called de facto elections of October 4. Heightening the resistance movement, including by entering the local elections race, is one of the top priorities for our party.
Street protests should serve as a complementary process rather than an alternative, and they should continue and intensify. Other parties may think differently. The intensification of the protest movement is for good. I cannot judge the plans of a specific party and how society will behave on October 4. We believe that everyone will walk their own path to achieve the goal that unites us,” he concluded.
