Lelo's Samadashvili: Russia demands fulfilment of all assignments, aims to keep Georgia within their grasp

“Russia’s latest demand for the abolition of the South Ossetian administration has been met. The Russians have consistently raised this issue, along with assurances that they will not resort to force,” writes Salome Samadashvili, a member of the Lelo party, on social media.

According to her, another step has been taken towards recognising the de facto independence of the occupied territories.

“Immigrants can now be considered deprived of their right to vote. Although a very small number of them have previously voted, even when able to do so abroad, they are now completely stripped of this right.

Following bans on political parties and restrictions on voting rights, there are indications that early elections may be held to establish a constitutional majority, potentially to remove references to membership in the European Union and NATO. We cannot rule out the possibility of revising the country’s territorial integrity through constitutional amendments.

It appears that Russia is demanding that all assignments be completed at an accelerated pace. Their goal is to keep Georgia within their grasp until the end of the Russian-Ukrainian war,” writes Salome Samadashvili.
