Lelo’s Buadze: Separate meetings not to bestow legitimacy on illegitimate government
“Separate visits will not confer legitimacy on an illegitimate regime. The Georgian Dream is in a state of diplomatic self-isolation,” declared Saba Buadze, the Lelo party member.
Buadze noted that legitimacy is granted by the Georgian people, and public discontent with the government continues to rise.
“No separate visits can legitimize this illegitimate force. While the government derives its legitimacy from the Georgian populace, there is a growing sentiment among our citizens regarding the unacceptability of a treacherous and anti-national regime. Regardless of who visits, we must consider the overall mood of the people. It is evident that the Georgian Dream is, in fact, in a state of diplomatic self-isolation, as none of our traditional partners recognize their legitimacy or are willing to engage in working meetings with them.”
Buadze also mentioned that he had no information regarding whether the OSCE Secretary General intended to meet with the opposition, but he emphasized that members of the Lelo party are “ready” to engage with him.
The OSCE Secretary General, Feridun Sinirlioğlu, recently met with Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili at the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
