Lelo sees all pro-western political parties as potential allies

Salome Samadashvili, a member of the opposition Lelo party, sees all political groups who want Georgia to be a democratic state with a European future as “potential allies.”

She stated when asked about eventual collaboration with Davit Kezerashvili, the former defence minister and Formula TV owner. The goal of the current Georgian Dream (GD) party and its founder, Bidzina Ivanishvili, according to Samadashvili, was to distance Georgia from the historic European choice.

“Georgians want their country to be a part of the European Union and the free world. Our goal is to defeat GD and replace the single-party rule with pro-western democratic coalition governance,” she stated.

Salome Samadashvili went on to say that the Lelo party intended to unite as many people as possible who were fed up with the “bipolar political system that dragged the country to a halt.”
