Leaders of the opposition coalition Strong Georgia – Lelo have held a working meeting with their nominated majoritarian candidates ahead of the upcoming by-elections scheduled for 3 October.

According to party officials, the candidates presented their election platforms and outlined the persistent issues facing local communities, ranging from dilapidated infrastructure to severe socio-economic hardships.

According to the coalition leadership, championing individual citizens and safeguarding their interests remains their foremost priority.

The coalition’s slate of candidates includes:

Zaza Shantadze in the Tsalka electoral district, encompassing the villages of Imera, Bareti, Sabechisi, and Livadi
Beka Kopaladze representing the coalition in the village of Pereta, Vani municipality
Vazha Noniashvili contesting the seat in the village of Sarkineti, Dmanisi municipality.

“We will not leave a single citizen isolated, nor will we surrender the interests of any individual. Wherever citizens are, their political representative must be there with them; our primary duty is to protect people’s rights. An authoritarian regime yields nothing without a fight, and this battle must continue across every political arena. That is why Strong Georgia – Lelo is not abandoning a single battlefield. We are simultaneously advancing our fight internationally, within civic protest movements, inside institutional spaces, across local government bodies, and, naturally, at the ballot box,” the coalition declared in a statement.
