Lelo faction initiates stopgap tax exemption for media outlets

The Lelo-Partnership for Georgia faction’s new legislative initiative envisages tax exemption for media outlets due to the current economic situation.

The amendments say that national broadcasters should be exempt from income tax and value-added tax (VAT) for three years while local broadcasters for six years.

It also says that print and electronic media should be free from profit tax for six years, while from VAT permanently.

The faction has prepared relevant amendments to the Tax Code of Georgia.
