Legal Affairs Committee Chair: Opposition politicians are political zeros

“Salome Zourabichvili finds herself in a desperate situation; she is searching for a new justification to call for fresh elections, desperately trying to navigate the predicament in which her superiors have placed her,” stated Archil Gorduladze, Chairman of the parliamentary Legal Affairs Committee.

Gorduladze contended that the President aims to establish a Revolutionary Committee (Revkom) to reinstate repressions, but he believes her efforts will ultimately prove futile.

“The notion that Salome Zourabichvili undermines the Constitution is not a new revelation. I want to remind the public that there are three grounds for calling new elections: the expiration of a parliamentary cycle’s four-year term, parliament’s failure to express confidence in the government on two separate occasions, and a court ruling declaring the elections invalid. None of these grounds exist in Georgia.

Salome Zourabichvili is in a desperate situation; she is grasping for a rationale to call for new elections, vainly attempting to escape the circumstances imposed upon her by her superiors. We will never acquiesce to her attempts to fulfil this directive. She seeks to establish a Revkom and restore repression, yet her efforts will be in vain. Their outcome will be negligible. Opposition politicians are political zeros and will remain so,” he remarked.
