Legal Affairs Committee Chair: European Commission study shows Georgian people’s support for government
Chairman of the parliamentary Legal Affairs Committee Archil Gorduladze remarked on the recent study by the European Commission and said it demonstrates Georgia’s progress.
“A European Commission study came as a signal for the EU bureaucracy; the study itself revealed that the Georgian people trust the Georgian government. We frequently see and hear statements and actions on their part aimed at separating or driving a wedge between the Georgian people and the Georgian government. Yet, their own research has revealed that the Georgian people place their trust precisely in the Georgian government.
We often hear EU officials saying the Georgian government behaves badly, but they will not abandon the Georgian people. However, I urge them to read the study, which demonstrates that the Georgian people trust their elected government and that Georgia ranks 5th in the rating.
Georgia ranks among the top five European nations for government trust with a 54.1% rating, according to a Eurobarometer study.
