Lawyer confirms Ilia Gudushauri admits charges, ready to cooperate with investigation
Former Deputy Minister of Health Ilia Gudushauri has been charged under Article 332, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, relating to abuse of official authority.
Gudushauri was formally informed of the charges while in pre-trial detention.
According to his lawyer, Dimitri Mchedlishvili, Gudushauri admits to the allegations.
“The charge is under Part 2 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which involves abuse of official authority. Our position is that Ilia Gudushauri acknowledges his guilt and is willing to cooperate with the investigation. The case concerns specific purchases. I have not yet fully reviewed the case materials, but I will do so now and can provide further details,” said Mchedlishvili.
