The role of the media is very important, which has a responsibility to cover verified, confirmed by sources information, – the US Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan stated.

As Kelly Degnan noted, the opening of today’s cybersecurity center is one of the examples of how Georgia is preparing to avoid potential attacks and threats.

“It is also very important that the public can distinguish fake news from real news, and the US Embassy runs many different programs for this. Also, the role of the media is very important, which has a responsibility to cover verified, confirmed by sources information, so as not to contribute to the dissemination of misinformation. The CEC is working in this direction, but this is a joint effort of the Central Election Commission, the media and the public so that they can distinguish facts and incorrect information”, – Kelly Degnan said.
