Georgian Justice Minister Rati Bregadze on Thursday said “nobody questions” Strasbourg Court ruling over jailed ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili who was denied to be transferred to Warsaw for treatment. Nor did the court order the state to transfer him to another medical facility in the country.
Following the meeting with the diplomatic corps in Georgia, the Minister stated that “the Strasbourg court takes its decision on the basis of evidence and is guided by legal norms and not by political perceptions and impressions.”
“We do not make explanations; we engage in communication with our friendly states, especially representatives of the diplomatic corps of the countries Georgia is advancing towards, namely the European Union,” he stated.
