Janos Herman – EU ready to support Georgia’s peace initiative with practical steps
Janos Herman, Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia said that EU will support Georgia’s peace initiative “A Step for Better Future” with practical steps.
In response to a question of First Channel, Herman said that EU would reconsider projects ongoing in support of locals residing in occupied regions of Georgia and would become involved in the peace initiative.
“The initiative will serve interests of citizens residing on both sides of the dividing line. This is part of our non-recognition and engagement policy. We believe that we could contribute to brining benefits from the initiative including with facilitation of trade, mobility and education,” Herman told First Channel.
Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili presented a new peace initiative of the government “A Step for Better Future” during the governmental sitting on April 4.
