Jailed ex-President says he fights against Russians, their accomplices for Georgia, and is not interested in internal intrigues
“The United National Movement had to pass through this way, and I am sure it will emerge stronger from these processes,” said jailed ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili, remarking on the ongoing developments in the UNM party on Facebook.
“I am fully in the fight against the Russian oligarch and Russians. (Lavrov spoke about me a lot in his recent speech in Europe). That is why I fight against Russians and their accomplices for Georgia, and I am not interested in internal intrigues.
I am always open with different individuals and groups to create a stronger union now with the Victory Coalition platform or later when everybody realizes that unity has no alternative,” he said.
Fourteen members of the opposition United National Movement (UNM) faction quit the Zugdidi City Assembly (Sakrebulo) on December 5.
