Jailed ex-President Saakashvili condemns assault on Giorgi Gakharia and Zviad Koridze
In a Facebook post, jailed ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili expressed his strong condemnation of a violent attack on Giorgi Gakharia, the leader of the Gakharia for Georgia party, and journalist Zviad Koridze.
“The government is inching perilously close to bloodshed,” Saakashvili warned, emphasizing the need for vigilance and caution in this critical situation.
Gakharia and Koridze were assaulted at a hotel in Batumi, Georgia.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has launched an investigation into the incident under Article 126 of the Criminal Code, which specifically addresses instances of violence.
