Israeli Ambassador: On Simchat Torah holiday, Israelis sitting in shelters

The Israeli Ambassador to Georgia, Hadas Meitzad remarked on the Hamas shelling of Israel.

“Happening now – Massive rockets attack on Israel by terror organization Hamas. Saturday morning, instead of lazy family quality time, instead of enjoying the holiday of Simchat Torah, all over the country Israelis are sitting in shelters,” she tweeted.

Hamas has launched more than 5,000 rockets from Gaza at Israel and kidnapped the bodies of Israeli soldiers killed in clashes on the border on Saturday, the Islamist group’s military wing said, as Israel declared a state of war alert.
