Irakli Kobakhidze: Georgia pledges readiness for EU membership by 2030; the rest hinges on justice
“Our responsibility is clear: we must be prepared for EU integration. We have committed to being ready by 2030. However, the future also depends on fairness,” Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze made this statement during today’s briefing.
The Prime Minister said that the government hopes that the shameful behaviour exhibited by European bureaucracy will change.
“Our obligation is to be ready for EU integration. As for the EU’s approach, if the disgraceful attitude we have seen from European bureaucracy persists, then injustice may continue. We affirm that we will be ready by 2030, fulfilling our obligations under the Association Agreement and DCFTA. The rest, however, depends on justice,” he added.
