Following a three-month pause, the Group on Incidents Prevention and Response Mechanisms (IPRM) is scheduled to hold its 123rd meeting in Ergneti village.
The attendees will scrutinize the incidents of borderization and unlawful detentions that have taken place along the Administrative Boundary Line (ABL).
According to Irakli Antadze, Deputy Head of the Analytical Department of the State Security Service of Georgia (SSG), between November 19, 2024, and the present day, a total of 11 cases of borderization have been observed in the Kareli and Gori municipalities. Moreover, six Georgian citizens continue to be held hostage by the de facto regime in occupied Tskhinvali.
“Today, we will review all incidents with a focus on securing the release of Georgian citizens who are being unlawfully detained,” Antadze emphasized.
“Notably, six Georgian citizens remain in custody, and from November 19 to today, 11 instances of borderization have been recorded. These developments involve the resumed installation of artificial fences and barbed wires, which poses a destructive threat,” Antadze stated.
