The Group on Incidents Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) is holding the next, 123rd round of a meeting in Ergneti village after a 2-month break.
The meeting participants will review the latest incidents at the Administrative Boundary Line (ABL), borderization facts and unlawful detentions of Georgian citizens.
According to Irakli Antadze, Deputy Director of the Analytical Department at the State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG), borderization was observed in the Kareli and Gori municipalities, where Russian occupants installed iron fences and barbed wires, ten Georgian citizens remained captives, while five other Georgian citizens were detained.
“We will touch on all incidents. The borderization process extended to the Dvani, Avlevi, Atotsi, Ghogheti, Ergneti and Ditsi villages in Kareli and Gori municipalities. Illegal artificial barriers were erected in the villages, and firebreaks were also arranged. In most cases, old infrastructure was renewed,” he said.
