Interior Ministry: Early warning system triggered in Devdoraki; Dariali border checkpoint evacuated
An alert signal was received from the early warning system installed in Devdoraki, which detects even minimal rises in the riverbed flow, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
“In accordance with protocol, citizens present on site, as well as patrol police, customs service, border police, and private company employees working at the Dariali border crossing point [Larsi checkpoint], were evacuated to a safe location,” the MIA stated.
At the same time, according to the MIA, traffic movement for all types of motor vehicles has been restricted in both directions near the village of Gveleti as a precautionary measure.
