Infrastructure Ministry to launch designing multi-functional park in Mtskheta
The Municipal Development Fund of the Infrastructure Ministry has launched the design of a multifunctional park on the right riverbank of the Aragvi in Mtskheta town.
According to the Ministry, a contract was signed with the company, which won the competition. The company will have to complete the work within 7 months. The project also envisages the reconstruction of Teatroni territory.
The park will comprise playgrounds, sports, recreational, educational and parking areas, sidewalks and bicycle lanes. Surveillance video cameras, lighting and water systems will be installed, and pedestrian bridges will be arranged.
“Since the territory falls within the buffer zone of Mtskheta Historic monuments of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, at the instruction of the Municipal Development Fund, the project author has to agree on the documentation with the Municipality, Culture Ministry and Georgian National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation. In the designing process, recommendations of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, and its advisory bodies, if any, should be taken into account,” the Infrastructure Ministry said.
