Infectious Diseases Hospital Director: Many countries will have 2/3 of their population vaccinated, Georgia to be among them
Tengiz Tsertsvadze, Director of the Tbilisi Hospital of Infectious Diseases said that the fourth wave of Covid-19 pandemic was ahead but it would be weaker than the second or third waves. He said the third wave passed in Georgia as in Europe and the US. However, being careful was still needed.
According to Tsertsvadze, many countries will have 2/3 of their population vaccinated by September and Georgia will be among those countries. However, he said this goal required immunization of about 8 thousand people per day.
“Starting from July 5, the number of vaccinated people will increase sharply as Georgia planned to import different vaccines. The population will be able to choose among them and get the desired vaccine jab,” Tsertsvadze said.
