Illegally detained Georgian citizen released

Giorgi Megrelishvili, a Georgian citizen illegally detained by the Russian occupation forces near Nikozi village, Gori municipality, has been released, the State Security Service of Georgia reported on Monday.

The SSG said it had activated a hotline and notified the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) of the incident. The government used all other instruments at its disposal.

The agency underscored that “the occupation forces bear full responsibility for the destructive actions carried out in the occupied regions of Georgia and along the occupation line.
