Georgian citizen illegally detained by Russian occupation forces released

A Georgian citizen Levan Dotiashvili unlawfully arrested by the Russian occupation forces near Kirbali village was released on Thursday, following an event in which Georgian citizen Tamaz Ginturi was killed during an attempt of illegal arrest by occupation forces on Monday.

According to the State Security Service of Georgia (SSG), Dotiashvili returned to the central Government-controlled territory following an “active discussion” by the Georgian side on Monday at a “technical meeting” with the participation of representatives of the Russian occupation forces administering Georgia’s occupied Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) region and the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) in Ergneti.

“The central government continues to work actively on the murder of Tamaz Ginturi to execute justice. Efforts are also underway to free all Georgian citizens in the occupied territories,” the SSG added.
